Week 5

Happy Fall Y'all! ... It's Friday!

We definitely had an eventful week!  Thank you for all of your support and hard work.    I hope that you are able to have some time for "R&R'" this weekend.  You definitely deserve it!

Let's get ready to welcome October!

News to Know:

Informal Observations

I will be doing pop in observations next week.

Intervention Services

All Intervention Services will continue next week. The Interventionists must have a place to service their students in your classroom. Please make sure that there is a designated area for them to work.

Chromebooks

Please make sure that you are monitoring the use and storage of your classroom Chromebooks.  It is vital that students do not remove Chromebooks from your classroom or take them home.  As such, you should have a procedure in place for accountability for all chromebooks assigned to your room.

Referrals for Special Education Testing

If you have concerns about a student, either academic or behavioral, you need to send the child through our IAT process.  DO NOT advise parents to request testing.  We have to follow the IAT process leading up to potential testing.

Printer Use

If you are printing a black and white copy, please use the BLACK printer and make one copy.  Then take this copy to the copiers in the office work room and make the copies that you need.

We are asking that you DO NOT make copies on the color printer.  That copier is for administration,

Also, we are continuing to have a lot of waste at the color printer.  If this continues, we may be forced to move the printer into the Dean's Office and limit access to this printer.

Work Day Hours

Just to reiterate Principal Bullard's email from yesterday, your workday ends at 3:30 pm regardless of whether or not you have students.  Please adhere to your work hours
7:30 am - 3:30 pm.

This meeting will only last one (1) hour...5:00-6:00 pm.

Next Friday is our first Half Day.  I want to review the expectations for that day so there are no misunderstandings.

  • This Half Day,  students must be in uniform.

News to Know:

Moral Focus Assembly

Our 1st Moral Focus Assembly will occur on Monday, September 9th.  It will be run by the Deans.  The purpose of this assembly is to reintroduce our students to the expectations and procedures of our Assemblies.  We will also be introducing our virtue of the month "Wisdom".
We will now have two assemblies.  The morning Assembly will be for K-5 students and will start at 8:15 am in the gym.  The Middle School Assembly (Gr. 6-8) will take place in the gym beginning at 2:15 pm.

Monthly Birthday Celebrations

We will not be celebrating students individual birthdays this year.  However, on the students birthday, should it fall on a school day, they will receive a birthday shout out at the end of the day over announcements.  If you have a student whose birthday falls on a weekend or over a break, please have them bring a note down to Ms. Rogers letting her know, on the last day of the week and/or before the break.

Also, we will hold a monthly Birthday celebration on the last Friday of each month during the last 30 minutes of school.  You can send out a sign up sheet to parents of students celebrating their birthday, for STORE BOUGHT items you'd like provided for the celebration (ie. cupcakes, candy, cookies, chips, etc.).
